Would it not be great to be able to produce your own electricity supply at home? The idea of being independently powered up without relying on the utility company is not that far away from becoming a reality. However, homebuilt wind generators are not designed to completely power a home. They use simple and cheap parts to substitute the space-age materials used in the more costly pre-fabricated version. Even so, it is not uncommon to be able to cut down a few thousand dollars from your power bill over a year.

All with a device that you can make from home for under $300. That is an impressive return of investment we are talking about. If you ask me, homebuilt wind generators certainly work. Although they may not be as efficient and powerful as a $3000 factory-made unit, building and using them for your home is a small but significant step towards being independently powered up.
