Recycle Frying Oil: Filtering Used Vegetable Oil

Filter Used Vegetable Oil

Frying oils and used vegetable oil are often thrown away by restaurants while they might serve as a true fuel for diesel engines, for example. Why not recycle? How to recycle frying oil?

The waste oil is bad for nature and especially for the aquatic environment. Sewage treatment plants are becoming more and more difficult to reprocess.

Whether it is a great restorer or a great lover of crisps, we know that oil can be recycled. It is important to realize that the recycle frying oil is a mine of energy that should never end up in the trash.

A settling and filtering are sufficient to turn waste into fuel for a diesel car.

We ourselves can recycle the recovered frying oils in restaurants or in our homes. With very few resources and a little imagination you can make a very easily installed at home. The more motivated we can see a way to be energy self-sufficient.

There are different ways to filter used vegetable oil from installation in the home to craft a collective filtering station.

The aim of the filtration of oils for diesel engines is to reduce very fine filtration down to 1 micron minimum, through one or two previous leaks. A 5-micron filter may be used with a high quality oil.

Before any leaks, it is essential that we stop three weeks decant oil to remove food residue; are called sludge settling.

Below are simple steps in filtering used vegetable oil

* First stage: Some start with heavy cloth or fabric filter (very effective in winter) and then end with a water filter cartridge that can be easily found in DIY stores.

* Second stage: In-line filtration (series) by gravity, with filter cartridges 25 and / or 5 microns. To filter a greater amount of oil (80 L / h) can be added to the installation of a pump used to water the garden. Useful electrical energy to filter remains very weak, but of nuclear origin. You can use low-power pumps from batteries powered by solar photovoltaic panels.

* Third step: Fill the tank car (diesel) with 30%, 50% or 100% of its mustard seed oil.

From above steps you know how easy it is to recycle frying oil and filter used vegetable oil. It would not take much effort to make a green energy from that wasted materials
